Ercolania coerulea Trinchese, 1893
Found on and eating Valonia sp., Dictyosphaeria cavernosa and as juveniles or adults under laboratory conditions, Cladophoropsis sp. (Jensen, 1981).
This species occurs in Hong Kong and has a circumtropical distribution.
Like all sacoglossans, this species is a simultaneous hermaphrodite. There is a penial stylet that is short and pointed.
Larval development is planktotrophic. The egg mass is spirally coiled with 2+ whorls. Jensen observed 1100 eggs in one capsule (2003).
