Elysia cf. tomentosa sp. 2
Biology:
One of six genetically and morphologically distinguishable taxa in the Elysia tomentosa species complex. This species has been mis-identified as Elysia papilllosa due to its highly papillose body surface, but does not match Verrill's description of E. papillosa and does not swim.
Associations:
Feeds on Caulerpa racemosa
Distribution:
This species is found in the Caribbean but is phylogenetically related to Indo-Pacific taxa in the tomentosa - expansa species complex.
